BLAST OFF on a Starship Adventure at the Woburn Public Library this summer! It’s easy, and it’s fun.
Sign up, choose a reading goal, and start reading. You can read anything—books, magazines, newspapers, comic books, graphic novels, web pages, even cereal boxes! Keep track of your time. When you have read to your goal, sign on to this web page and check in. You will be eligible to earn a museum pass for each week you meet your goal. There are 34 museum pass choices, so you’re sure to find one you like.
Once you’ve met your goal for 4 weeks, you’ll earn a certificate and some cool prizes. If you read for 8 weeks, you’ll earn a “Star Reader” bookmark, too!
There are lots of activities, from performances and special programs, to crafts, to Scrabble to Pajama storytimes. Drop in—no registration is required.
Adopt a Martian! Come to the library and pick up your very own Martian. Color it, cut it out, and take it whenever you go somewhere or do something during the summer, and take a picture. Bring your picture to the library, or email it to wobmartians@gmail.com. We will post the pictures at the library, and online, too, if we have your permission. Show your Martian around your corner of Earth—it’s all new to our intergalactic visitors.
There will be raffles each week. Prizes like book bags, pencils, magnetic picture frames, and coupons for cookies or ice cream will be available to for kids who check in online or at the library.
There will also be a contest for “Where in Woburn is Glorf the Martian?” Check in at the library for details.
